A little lotus seed from China lay asleep for more than 1.300 years and then it sprouted in just four days, just like its modern sibling. The seed existed long before Marco Polo came to China. It maintained itself for this long period, endured the stresses of time and nature, and emerged as soon as it found the opportunity. The lotus is a sacred flower in many religions mainly Hinduism and Buddhism. It was even an important symbol in ancient Egypt, representing death and rebirth. The flower also symbolises beauty, purity, awakening, and resurrection.
