Comparing the weight, bamboo is stronger than wood, it withstands more tension than steel and more compression than concrete. Bamboo is a type of grass; it doesn’t contain any bark or woody tissue, thus being extremely fast growing and lightweight. This makes it incredibly unique because it is an abundant, renewable, cheap, and easily harvested resource. I think we often overlook and under-value the usefulness and beauty of what we have in abundance. Bamboo can be an innovative solution for many environmental problems.
